Why Gluten Free?

Before we set out on our journey I'd like to introduce you to the reason we've made the decision to go gluten free. Melanee.

My daughter Melanee was diagnosed with psoriasis at the age of four. Her psoriasis presented very suddenly and very severe, it covered almost 95% of her body: arms, legs, eye lids, scalp, chest, back, if there was skin, there was psoriasis.

Myself being diagnosed with psoriasis at the age of 21, I was crushed to see that this was now something my sweet kiddo was going to have to live with as well. I've been lucky to this point that my flare ups are very mild, and are generally resolved with some warm sunny weather and topical prescription creams. My daughter has not been so fortunate.

Being back and forth with different topical creams, oral steroids, light therapy, and lotions we have decided to take the journey into being gluten free. I've talked to several people who shared their incredible stories having made this decision, and the wonderful impact it has had on their lives.  I am looking forward to documenting this journey with my family.

Please consider joining us October 10, 2015 in Houston at Discovery Green Park for the Houston Psoriasis Walk. My daughter Melanee is the Houston Youth Ambassador for this great cause. I am attaching a link below.
